Kyoto Street

In Kyoto you will find great adventure at any turn. It calls itself 'a walking city'-a bit of a joke as you will definitely have to walk a lot! The traffic gets heavy so buses can be slow, the subway has only two lines and the JR train is also limited-it's too hilly, and many good sites are on hills or out of town.

But walk anywhere and you will find neat old-style houses, cool cafes, temples, funky shops, guest houses, museums...

Here I was walking and heard the chanting, drumming and bells of a little shrine. The children and street seems to have won over the monks, though.
